OP4 Silver pellet-bell rattle. A hundred minute silver pellet-bells mounted
on a wire frame.
Used in Marine Residua and The Fish that became the Sun.
OP5 White metal pellet-bell rattle. Three hundred minute pellet-bells
mounted on a small wire frame.
Used in A Monkey’s Paw and Broken Music.
OP6-OP7 Two mango-seed rattles. Each has eight or nine dried mango seeds filled
with pieces of cockle-shell and laced together by a cord.
Used in A Monkey’s Paw, Finding Refuge in the Remains and The Fish that became the Sun.
OP8-OP9 Two large sistra, each 4 to 6 feet high.
Used in The Fish that became the Sun.
OP10-OP12 Three tree branches with leaves. These are shaken.
Used in A Monkey’s Paw.
OP13-OP14 Two pieces of domestic aluminium foil, each approx. 4-5 feet high
and 18 inches wide, each suspended from a stand and shaken.
Used in A Monkey’s Paw, Broken Music, Towards the Darkness and The Fish that became the Sun.
OP15 Large bamboo switch.
Used in Beneath the Fired City, Finding Refuge in the Remains and The Fish that became the Sun.
OP16-OP18 Three bristle brooms each with two paving stones as a sweeping surface.
Used in The Fish that became the Sun.
OP19-OP21 Three bamboo buzzers. One very large (4 inch diameter bamboo),
the other two not identical in pitch but both of medium sized bamboo.
Used in Beneath the Fired City.
OP22 Playing cards guiro. Cards mounted on a rack and flipped with a finger.
Used in Beneath the Fired City.
OP23-OP27 Five fishing rods. Carbon fibre blank rods (i.e. minus all their usual attachments),
each 10 feet or longer.
All five used in A Monkey’s Paw; one in Broken Music; one in The Fish that became the Sun.
OP28 Large rollerphone (sometimes referred to as Sea Drum). Octagonal wooden
frame approx. 4 feet in diameter, covered with two membranes of heavy paper two
inches apart from one another. Between these two membranes is lead shot (about
a teaspoon full) which moves around as the drum is tipped.
Used in Marine Residua and A Monkey’s Paw.
OP29-OP32 Four bags of glass marbles. 100-200 marbles in each light net bag.
Sounds made by squeezing and tapping.

OP33 Wet slap. Heavy water sodden material slopped onto stone surface.
Used in A Monkey’s Paw.
OP34 Torn cloth. Suspended cotton bedsheet is ripped in strips.
